When it comes to Andis Clippers, changing the blade drive and hinge is pivotal for optimal performance. In this guide, we'll detail the essential steps to execute this maintenance task seamlessly.
First, take the hinge screws off using the Phillips No.2 Screwdriver.
Once the hinge is off, remove and keep track of the shim.
Remove the blade drive with the No.1 Phillips screwdriver to unfasten.
Get your new OEM Blade Drive, and stretch out the fins before placing it on your clipper.
Pro tip: Stretching out the fins will loosen them up a bit to prevent them from making loud noises.
If the latch is still good, just replace the hinge with a new one.
Insert the little pins of the new hinge in the pinholes of the latch to complete.
Take the lock keeper shim and put it back on.
Then put the hinge back in, make sure it’s set there.
put the screws back on.
Get your blade cap - making sure the foam isn’t lost - snap it back in place.
Pop the hinge open and insert your blades.
